Located in Tigard, Oregon, southwest of Portland near I-5, we perform all over the greater Portland metropolitan area. Our Christmas concert venues the Grotto Festival of Lights. Encore has also performed at the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts. In addition, we perform two open concerts each year, in December and in May, often at Tigard United Methodist Church.

Members

Meetings Board meetings are held regularly throughout the concert season, usually once a month. Meetings are open to all Encore members, except when the Board may call an executive session. Agenda items may be submitted to the Board Chair for general consideration at any meeting. |
Costumes
Formal performance outfit
Our formal performance outfit is a long black dress of your choice, worn with black hose and black shoes. This outfit is worn for our large seasonal concerts and for other formal venues like the Grotto and should meet the following guidelines:

Casual performance outfit
Our casual performance outfit consists of an Encore T-shirt, in various colors, worn with black pants and black shoes. The pants can be any style but should be full-length. This outfit is worn for performances at retirement communities and other informal venues. T-shirts cost $9.00 and can be ordered from Jean Mittelstaedt. |
Following are some examples of reasonably-priced black dresses available online. These are suggestions only; you are free to find whatever long black dress you feel comfortable in. Those with a * are being worn by current members. |
Dues
Dues cover the rental of rehearsal facilities, liability insurance for the choir, publicity expenses (programs, flyers, other promotional material, postage, advertisements), an honorarium for the accompanist, and other costs that periodically arise throughout the seasons, at the Board’s discretion.
If payment of dues would be a financial hardship for you, feel free to talk to the Treasurer or the Director. The Treasurer will give you a "Dues Reduction Request" form to fill out for consideration by the Board.
